Mandy’s Coaching Approach

I believe that the key to cultivating healthy, joyful, and present relationships with others begins with an understanding and acceptance of oneself.

My coaching approach combines introspection, mindfulness practices, and tailored strategies to help you gain clarity, rediscover your passions, and align your actions with your authentic values. My aim is to help you to develop a compassionate mindset that extends to yourself and others, fostering a greater understanding and connection in your relationships and interactions. Through our work together, you can awaken your true self, cultivate compassion, and live a more conscious, purpose-driven life.

In my work, I rely on Internal Family Systems, The Enneagram, and meditation techniques to guide you on a remarkable journey of self-discovery and personal growth. As you develop a kinder relationship with yourself, you'll begin to witness a ripple effect in your interactions with those around you. By embracing your true essence and honoring your needs and values, you'll naturally create a more positive and empathetic presence in your relationships.

Coaching sessions are designed to empower you with valuable tools and insights to navigate complex dynamics with family, deepen friendships, and foster a more collaborative atmosphere with colleagues. Together, we will cover a range of modalities, communication methodologies, and self-awareness exercises to give you a better access to Self.  As you grow in self-awareness and compassion, you'll discover the power of leading with empathy and understanding, fostering an environment of trust and support in your relationships.

The Practical Parts

  • Compassionate coaching integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), the Enneagram, and meditation techniques to nurture self-compassion and empathy. Together, we will explore your internal dynamics, identifying different parts and understanding their motivations. Utilizing IFS, you’ll learn to embrace and heal these parts with kindness. The Enneagram provides valuable insights into your unique personality patterns and inner landscape. Meditation serves as a powerful tool for navigating the complexities of the inner world. With compassionate coaching, you can develop a profound sense of self-acceptance, fostering compassion for yourself and others, leading to transformative growth and positive relationships.

  • The Internal Family Systems model is a powerful and compassionate framework that recognizes each person as a unique system of inner parts. These parts represent different aspects of your personality, emotions, and experiences. With my guidance, you will explore these parts and gain a profound understanding of their roles, needs, and interconnections.

As you delve into the realm of IFS, you'll uncover your true essence beyond the surface-level thoughts and behaviors. This particular approach will help you develop a compassionate and non-judgmental relationship with every part of yourself, fostering a harmonious internal dialogue.

Through this empowering process, you will identify and heal parts that may have been carrying burdens from past experiences, allowing you to release emotional weight and move towards greater freedom and authenticity. The IFS model will enable you to cultivate self-compassion and reclaim the wisdom and strengths that reside within you.

You will learn practical techniques to harmonize and integrate your inner parts, leading to a more balanced and centered sense of self. Armed with this newfound awareness, you'll confidently navigate life's challenges, make empowered choices, and foster deeper connections with others.

  • The Enneagram, first and foremost, is a symbol, made distinct by its nine-points that operates as a map for transformation. Rooted in ancient wisdom and modern psychological insights, it describes nine distinct personality types, each with its own core fears, desires, and defense mechanisms. The wisdom of the symbol contains a dynamic and insightful personality and energetic system that offers a profound understanding of human behavior and motivations. It has a transformative power in fostering self-awareness, empathy, and personal growth. Using the Enneagram as a map, you can gain valuable insights into your patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving, enabling you to navigate life's challenges with greater clarity and purpose.

  • Gurdjieff, the influential spiritual teacher and philosopher whom many attribute to bringing the teachings of the Enneagram into the modern era, employed a concept similar to parts work, although he did not use the term "Internal Family Systems" specifically. In his teachings, Gurdjieff referred to these inner aspects as "subpersonalities" or "I's." According to Gurdjieff's ideas, individuals consist of a multitude of inner subpersonalities or parts, each with its own distinct thoughts, emotions, and desires. These parts often operate independently, leading to inner conflicts and inconsistent behaviors.

Gurdjieff emphasized the importance of self-awareness and self-observation to understand these different parts of oneself. He believed that by recognizing and integrating these subpersonalities, individuals could gain greater self-mastery and alignment. This process is similar to the Internal Family Systems (IFS) concept, where practitioners explore and understand their inner parts, nurturing a compassionate relationship with them and promoting harmony within the psyche.

While the terminology and approaches differ, the underlying principles of acknowledging and working with inner parts to achieve inner harmony and personal growth align with both Gurdjieff's teachings and the Internal Family Systems therapy. Both emphasize the importance of self-awareness and inner exploration to foster a deeper understanding of oneself and cultivate a more integrated and authentic relationship to your Self energy. This connection with Self helps cultivate inner healing and wisdom.

  • Coaching allows for exploration of different modalities outside of traditional psychotherapy. While, I have experience, training, and accreditation as a Chartered Psychologist in the UK, I do not practice as a psychotherapist.

  • My overarching aim in sessions to help you get to know and learn to trust your own “system”. I believe that your system has the ability to find its own answers and I strive to empower you to get in contact with that inner wisdom.

I do this by using a fluid and personalized approach, drawing from the rich tools of Internal Family Systems (IFS), the Enneagram, and diverse meditation techniques. Each session is an organic and evolving experience, tailored specifically to your individual needs. For example, we might start by exploring your Enneagram type, understanding your unique patterns and motivations. Utilizing the insights from the Enneagram, we then venture into your internal world through IFS, encountering different parts and understanding their underlying emotions and needs. From there, I adapt meditation practices that resonate with you, empowering you to cultivate self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and inner harmony.

I also understand that some people may not know their Enneagram type, have confusion about their type, or are not interested in working with the Enneagram. That’s not a problem—we can enter the work together from a different perspective.

As our coaching relationship deepens, each session becomes spontaneous, guided by the your progress and current challenges. This dynamic and personalized approach ensures that you receive the support and guidance you need for their ongoing personal development, leading to transformative and lasting positive change in your life.
